Somewhere in the forest behind the abbey where he lives is a grave - and buried deep in the snow is an angel. I haven't read a book about the hob since William Mayne's series in As that was 25 years ago, it's possible that Pat Walsh read them as a child. The Crowfield Curse begins with young.

The Crowfield Curse was such a well-made book that I expected it to round off more completely and smoothly, like a polished stone. But this is scarcely a complaint in another regard, which is that I'm pleased to look forward to reading a second book about William Paynel and his dealings with the fay.

The Crowfield Curse is a worthy successor to The Satanic Mill is for me, not just because of its similarities, but because of its enthusiastic embrace of older, deeper magic. It will never be as good as The Satanic Mill for me, if only because The Satanic Mill came first and is therefore a touchstone for me, just as I can imagine The Crowfield.

Overall, The Crowfield Curse is a fantastic, spellbinding novel, the greatest piece of literature I've ever read and I can't wait to read the sequel, The Crowfield Demon.

These four books could fit the bill – each complements the winter season and features a touch of the supernatural and a touch of horror. These are stories about the monstrous within and without.

A mix of historical and fantasy fiction, The Crowfield Curse moves along at a good pace, while drawing a portrait of an empathetic boy making his own.

One of the best books i've read in a long time, I was totally hooked. I loved the first book in the series, The Crowfield Curse, and had to get my hands on this one too! things in this book get even creepier and unnerving than they were in Curse, there is something that is threatening to destroy the monks home, and everything they do to stop it /5(25).The Crowfield Demon by Pat Walsh, available at Book Depository with free delivery worldwide.
